Raghvender Sports Academy is the sports brand of Swatantra Foundation.
Before 2019, as an informal forum, we have organised four FIDE rated National level Chess Tournaments in the years 2014 and 2016 under the banner Vishy Anand Chess Academy. As an informal forum we could not organise many programs as the sponsorship support was limited.
More over we wanted to organise other sports events such as Swimming, Basketball, Badminton, etc., As the name Chess Academy cannot suit other sports, we have included the sports activities under Swatantra Foundation later.
After the formation of Swatantra Foundation we have decided to continue our sports activity under the brand RAGHVENDER SPORTS ACADEMY. We are planning to organise an International FIDE rated Chess Tournament and a Swimming competition in association with the respective Sports Federation. Due to COVD restirctions we could not organise the same in this current year, though we have already completed the preliminary activities with regard to this.

We have organised another FIDE Rated Chess Tournament under the banner Vishy Anand Chess Academy [Now Raghvender Sports Academy]. This tournament was attended by 350 FIDE Rated players from across the Country and supported by Dinamani [Leading Tamil Daily News paper – New Indian Express Group] as media sponsor and IOC as the Associate Sponsor. Late. Sri. G. Narayanaswamy, FCA [Founder Presient of Rajaji Centre for Public Affairs, President for Hindustan Chamber of Commerce, President for Young Men’s Indian Association YMIA, President The Triplicane Cultural Academy, President, The Kasturi Srinivasan Library, etc., Who was an Institution builder and headed more than 24 organisation including Chairman for Institution of Chartered Accountants. He was the Chief Guest along with Sri. Adipan, Grand Master.
