To Inculcate Value System in the Society through Arts & Culture

Om Fine Arts is the Arts & Cultural brand of Swatantra Foundation. We have organised our inaugural event during August 2019 with Smt. Suchithra Balasubramanian, Carnatic Vocal & Harikatha Exponent performing Musical Discourse on the topic “SHANMATHAM” covering the six segments of worship forms created by Adhi Shankaracharya.

We have also organised a Carnatic Vocal concert by Ms. Anahita & Apoorva sisters, upcoming carnatic vocalists, in the month of November 2019 followed by a Namasankeerthanam by Vivekandandha Vidhyalaya School children, Ambattur, Chennai in the same month. Smt. J.B. Keerthana performed a carnatic vocal concert in the month of September 2019.

We were planning to organise a series of Musical Discourse on the excellent topic “PAADAL PETRA THALANGAL” [Temples of Lord Shiva sung & praised by 63 Nayanmars, the great devotees of Lord Shiva]. We have fixed March 17, 2020 as the date with the Honourable Governor of Tamil Nadu inaugurating this series, first of its kind in India, with elaborate commentary on the great ancient temples of Lord Shiva and appropriate songs. Honourable Governor has agreed to talk on the important topic ‘Role of Music in Value System”. Due to COVID lockdown the programme was cancelled and the same will be done once the COVID restrictions are over.

Earlier from 2016 to 2018, in association with The Triplicane Cultural Academy we have organised a series of 20 programmes on the topic “108 Divya Desams” – one programme a month – covering the ancient temples of Lord Vishnu with Dr. Sudha Seshayyan, erudite scholar giving elaborate commentary on the temples with appropriate songs by Alwars on the temples[the great devotees of Lord Vishnu]. This program was well received by the audience and had the hall full with 300 rasikas attending each of the program.
